There are a number of different locations where you can get help planning a trip, with timetable information and have your transport questions answered.

In the Sydney CBD

There are several places that you can visit in the Sydney CBD to get information about the NSW public transport network.

Transport Customer Service Centre – Central Station

Monday to Saturday: 06:00 to 20:30
Sundays and public holidays 07:00 to 20:30

Located on the Grand Concourse at Central Station, the Customer Service Centre can help with trip planning and timetable information for all public transport in NSW. See free wi-fi.

You can get an unregistered Adult or Child Opal card, or top-up your existing Opal card*.

You can buy paper tickets at the Central train station ticket office next to the customer Service Centre, or at the Railway Square Transport Shop located on the corner of Lee and George Streets.

Transport Customer Service Centre - Circular Quay

Monday to Friday: 07:00 to 19:00
Weekends and public holidays: 08:30 to 17:00

Located opposite Wharf 5 at Circular Quay on Alfred Street, the Customer Service Centre can help with trip planning and timetable information for all public transport in NSW. See free wi-fi.

You can get an unregistered Adult or Child Opal card or top-up your existing Opal card*.

You can buy paper tickets at the nearby Circular Quay train station, ferry office or at the Circular Quay Transport Shop located on the corner of Loftus and Alfred Streets.

*The Transport Customer Service Centres at Central and Circular Quay do not accept cash payments.

Transport Shops

Transport Shops are located at major bus interchanges in the Sydney CBD. At Transport Shops you will find:

  • bus timetable and trip planning information for Sydney
  • unregistered Opal card acquisition and Opal card top ups (Wynyard and Railway Square only)
  • paper ticket sales and information (MyBus, MyMulti and day pass tickets)
  • printed bus timetables
  • ticket return envelopes for faulty tickets. Transport Shop staff cannot replace tickets. See refunds and replacements.

These information offices provide train information and timetables. Tickets can be purchased at the train station ticket offices nearby.
