Art Gallery and Show Etiquette
Respect the silence; avoid loud conversation. Respect fellow visitors; don't intrude on personal space.
Appreciate the works, but don't lecture companion(s) - it's doubtful that other people will appreciate a history of art lesson. It's not necessary to like or understand everything, but keep strong opinions to yourself ("call that art!" or "my two-year old does better!").
Don't stand in front of paintings for a long time, or barge in front of other people. Wait your turn and remember that people may be behind you - tall people should stand further back to allow everyone a good view. Never, ever touch the exhibits.
Top Tip: for the best viewing, try to get hold of preview tickets.
