Citations Directory

science fiction awards database

18 Apr 2013--

Sfadb citations are references to books in critical works, all-time polls, and reading guides. They are included in sfadb to supplement the awards data, as part of the larger project to identify the key works of sf/f/h over the entire history of these genres. Unlike awards, citation selections are not constrained to one per year, and their scope covers many decades before the existence of all the awards.

Twenty-eight citation sources are posted initially, listed below; another 30 or so (including extensive sources such as Neil Barron's Anatomy of Wonder, James Gunn's "Basic Science Fiction Library", and John Clute's Science Fiction: The Illustrated Encyclopedia) will be added in the coming weeks.
