The Bride's Morning

On the morning of the wedding day, all eyes will be on the bride, and she is the main priority; plenty of time must be allocated to get her ready. Rushing causes fraught nerves and accidents.

- No matter how nervous she is, the bride should try to eat something.

- She should put on her underwear before she has her hair and make-up done.

- Once the bride's hair and make-up is ready, the chief bridesmaid and mother of the bride should be the next to prepare, followed by any remaining bridesmaids.

- The bride should put her wedding dress on, followed by the shoes and veil or headdress, half an hour before leaving. Jewellery should be added last of all.

- If the dress goes on over her head, make sure her face is fully covered with a scarf so as not to ruin either her make-up or the dress.

- Anyone helping the bride should wear clean white gloves and no shoes.

- Plenty of time should be allowed to get the bride into her dress, which is likely to have complicated fastenings.

- Once dressed, the bride should avoid sitting down to avoid creasing the back of the dress.

- Some brides like to give their bridesmaids their thank you presents; others wait for the groom to hand them out during his speech.

- She should take a few moments to compose herself and enjoy a glass of champagne with her entourage.
