New York City police descends into corruption in Steven Spielberg's Public Morals teaser

New York City's police department is rife with corruption and betrayal in the gripping teaser for producer Steven Spielberg's TNT series Public Morals.

Period drama Public Morals is the brainchild of filmmaker Edward Burns, who serves as both creator and lead actor.


Burns portrays Terry Muldoon of the NYPD's Public Morals Division, which is tied into deals with criminals and all sorts of illegal activity.

Taking place in the 1960s, Public Morals examines just how closely police worked with organise crime to avoid all-out street warfare.

Starring opposite Burns as the cops, criminals and terrified residents of New York City are Aaron Dean Eisenberg (The Ghostmaker), Elizabeth Masucci (Dorothy and the Witches of Oz), Neal McDonough (Agent Carter) and Michael Rapaport (Prison Break).

Public Morals premieres on TNT on Tuesday, August 25 at 10pm ET.
