The former Phones4U entrepreneur now puts most of his energy into philanthropic projects, helping sick and disabled children with his Caudwell Children charity. His key charitable pursuit is supporting Caudwell Children, but he is also a significant and regular contributor to, and supporter of, a number of charities and good causes including The Prince’s Regeneration Trust, Marie Curie, the Elton John AIDS Foundation, ARK (Absolute Return for Kids), Great Ormond Street Hospital and The Carers Trust amongst others. A signatory of The Giving Pledge, a campaign through which the world’s wealthiest donate the majority of their fortune to philanthropic causes, John Caudwell’s intention is to leave at least 50% of his wealth to a charitable foundation which will be run by his children.
