Poncho Will Bring Some Robotic Style to the Wii U eShop This September

Posted by Thomas Whitehead

Try to restore humanity - no pressure

Rising Star Games will be bringing another title to Nintendo hardware soon, confirmed that Poncho - developed by Delve Interactive - will head to the Wii U eShop and other platforms this September.

This is a puzzle platformer in which you jump between layers of depth in order to find your maker and save humanity; that's a lot for a poncho wearing robot to worry about. We had a look at this at EGX Rezzed back in the Spring, with our video interview below to tell you more.

The background-shifting reminds me of Kirby Triple Deluxe.
It definitely looks cool from what we see of it. Remind me to check this out when it releases...

Looks pretty cool.

PS. See here's the problem with Kickstarter these days: These guys couldn't get this game more than 40% funded on Kickstarter, even though it actually looks pretty cool, but some famous American dev or famous Japanese dev, or whoever, comes in a pitches some game largely based on their name and nostalgia and they get multiple millions of dollars in a few days/weeks. It's just a bit unfair and broken, when you think about it. And Kickstarter was supposed to be about helping the little guy with the big idea get a break and was meant to be a way allow them to create the projects they wouldn't have been able to otherwise. Yeah; right. Another system that was once good, in principle at least, now corrupted by greed. It's just lucky for these guys that they got another chance/opportunity to bring this game to us.

This is looking great and I think a 3DS version would be a great success because of the use of multiple layers. So fingers crossed for a 3DS version.

I will definitely check this out on either the Wii-u or Steam, maybe even both, if a 3DS version won't make it.
