Rostelecom to invest RUB 15 bln in St Petersburg

Russian national operator Rostelecom plans to carry out a massive upgrade of the fixed telephony network in the city of St Petersburg, reports Topdialog.ru. A fibre network will replace obsolete equipment in around 95 percent of current network footprint in the city. Work will be carried out at around 2 million apartments. The investment will total around EUB 15 billion, and the project is planned to be completed by the end of 2016.
