Does Pluto's bright spot look more like a heart or the Disney dog?

As our closest glimpse ever of Pluto, courtesy of NASA's New Horizons spacecraft, drew oohs and ahhs across social media Tuesday, many were especially fascinated by a mysterious bright spot on the dwarf planet's surface.

At first glance, it appears to be shaped like a heart, as NASA noted on Twitter:

But many people thought the area bares resemblance to another famous Pluto — Mickey Mouse's pet pup — posting images of the Disney dog over the mysteriously bright plain.

Even Disney noted the spot looked familiar, posting this GIF image featuring its favorite Canis familiaris:

NASA said it was not immediately clear if the bright spot is a crater or another planetary feature. Official confirmation of Tuesday's flyby by New Horizons was expected Tuesday night, along with even more new photos of the icy world.
