Stolen blind dog safe at Melbourne home

CHESTER, the blind and voiceless dog snatched away from his owner on a Melbourne street, has been returned safe and well.

CHESTER, a Japanese Chin dog, is believed to have been grabbed by a group of teens while out with his owner on a Glenroy walking track just after 5pm on Wednesday.

Shortly after the pair went past four teens, Chester's owner realised his dog was no longer by his side and looked back to see two of the youths running away up a nearby hill.

Police say the pooch was found in a Glenroy street by an elderly couple around 6pm on Thursday and was returned by police to his owner.
