Roundup: Despite injuries Minnesota beats Chicago at home

Ten of the twelve teams were in action over the past two days in the WNBA.

Aneika Henry’s layup with 29 seconds left in the game gave Atlanta a win over Los Angeles. Angel McCoughtry scored 22 points in the win, Henry had 16. Jantel Lavender had 20 points and 11 rebounds in the loss.

Connecticut Sun suffered their fifth consecutive loss at the hands of New York Liberty, who now lead the Eastern Conference. New York held Connecticut to seven points in the fourth quarter as they pulled away from the Sun. Tina Charles led the Liberty with 22 points and 12 rebounds against her former team.

17-1 run in the third quarter helped Washington Mystics past Indiana Fever for their seventh win of the season. Mystics centers Emma Meesseman and Latoya Sanders both recorded double-doubles in the win – 14 points, 13 rebounds for Meesseman, 14 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for Sanders.

Minnesota Lynx went on an 18-0 run in the third quarter, in which Maya Moore scored 8 points to beat the Chicago Sky at home, evening out the season series at 1-1 after a loss at Chicago. Maya Moore led the injury burdened Lynx with 29 points in the win. Spanish guard Anna Cruz added 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Jessica Breland led the Sky in the loss with 17 points.

San Antonio Stars handed a loss to Tulsa Shock with a 10-0 run in the fourth quarter. Sophia Young-Malcolm led the Stars with 18 points and 7 rebounds, Danielle Robinson added 16 points, 7 rebounds and 7 turnovers.
