One of the fashion world’s rising stars and a lifelong entrepreneur across the retail, trade and hospitality sectors, Mahmud Kamani teamed up with Carol Kane in 2006 to found online fashion retailer Boohoo. Last year the website had a turnover of £110 million – up 746 % in just five years – and Kamani is currently orchestrating an infrastructure which will aim to increase that figure even more, to a potential £1 billion. A stock market flotation last March when the market was at its peak netted the Kamani family an impressive £200 million, although Kamani still owns a 24 % stake. Today he is reportedly worth a whopping £290 million.
