Styles of Reception Food

styles of reception food

There are many different styles of reception food on offer, from a formal sit down dinner to a rustic hog roast. The couple should consider the style of the wedding and the budget.

A sit-down served lunch or dinner gives a sense of occasion but it is more expensive; a buffet is often a more economical option for seated meals. A drinks' party style canapé and champagne reception can suit smaller weddings on tighter budgets. Some couples completely break the wedding mould and go for an unusual format such as Chinese food stations or a seafood bar. Often less is more and simple, well-executed ideas are best.
