The new Premier League season is less than a week away but there is still plenty of activity in the transfer window as managers try and put the finishing touches on their squads for the new season.

Manchester United are looking to tie up the signing of Barcelona forward Pedro while Angel di Maria looks to be on his way out of Old Trafford and set for Paris Saint-Germain.

Chelsea, who are in action in the Community Shield against Arsenal at Wembley, are also not ready to give up on Everton defender John Stones.

Rafael appears to have confirmed Manchester United exit

Lyon target Rafael has dropped a hint over his future by responding to a fan who has wished him well ahead of his move away from Old Trafford. 

Rafael has dropped down the pecking order at Manchester United following the arrival of Italy star Matteo Darmian and is said to be close to completing a move to Lyon. 

When a fan said: 'All the best Rafa. Gutted to see one of our own move on. You always gave 100% and it wont be forgotten. A United legend. Good Luck.' Rafael then replied 'thanks mate'. 


CRAIG HOPE: Steve McClaren wants Fabricio Coloccini to remain at Newcastle United amid interest from Alan Pardew and Crystal Palace.

The former Magpies manager wants to take his old skipper to Selhurst Park.

Coloccini has not featured for United this summer and was again absent during Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at home to Borussia Monchengladbach, the reason given as an achilles injury.

MATT MALTBY: Wolfsburg manager Dieter Hecking is confident that star player Kevin de Bruyne will remain with the Bundesliga club this season.

The former Chelsea midfielder was named the best player in the Bundesliga last season after a standout year that saw him record 20 assists in the league.

His form in Germany has seen him strongly linked with a move to Manchester City where he would get a second shot at proving his worth in the Premier League.

MATT MALTBY: Swansea City are yet to reach an agreement with Michu that will see the outcast leave the Premier League club, manager Garry Monk has revealed.

The Spain international initially impressed in south Wales, scoring 22 goals in his debut season after joining in a £2million deal from Rayo Vallecano in July 2012.

However, he has fallen down the pecking order at the Liberty Stadium and was shipped out on loan to Serie A side Napoli last season, where injuries restricted him to just three league appearances.

SIMON JONES: Angel di Maria will have a medical in Doha, Qatar on Monday ahead of finalising his £44.4m transfer to Paris St Germain.

The 27-year-old Manchester United winger set off a 1.35am this morning and is flying from Argentina via Sao Paulo to Doha where he is due to land at around 7.20pm.

He will undergo a medical at the Aspire centre tomorrow morning before taking a connection to Paris to complete the formalities of his move.

ADAM CRAFTON: Manchester City face a battle to keep one of the club's most higly-rated youngsters after it emerged that attacking midfielder Marcos 'Rony' Lopes is a transfer target for a host of French sides.

Lyon, Monaco and Marseille have registered their interest in the 19-year-old forward and Sportsmail understands that two of those sides have made enquiries over a permanent deal.

Lopes was one of the best performers in Ligue 1 last season, where he spent the campaign on loan at Lille. They are also keen on Lopes but it is unlikely he would return to the club.

Manager Claudio Ranieri is also hoping to secure Tunisia international defender Yohan Benalouane from Atalanta for £4.2m while talks are ongoing over a £5.6m deal for Caen midfielder N'Golo Kante. 

Aranguiz though has made it clear he would prefer a move to Leverkusen.

MARTIN DOMIN: Liverpool have completed the signing of Allan Rodrigues de Souza from Internacional for £500,000.

The 18-year-old defensive midfielder trained with the first team at Melwood last week and has agreed terms with the Anfield club.

He was named on the bench for the friendly in Finland against HJK Helsinki.
