THE Bus is a cooperative effort of the Hernando County Board of County Commissioners, Metropolitan Planning Organization, City of Brooksville, Florida Department of Transportation, Federal Transit Administration and McDonald Transit Associates, Inc. in serving the citizens with affordable public transportation. 

Our mission is to provide safe, efficient, and accessible transit services to citizens and visitors in need of transportation and to evolve into a system that ultimately provides for the mobility of all residents and visitors in Hernando County, offering a viable choice among travel modes.

Whether you need a ride to work, school, shopping, appointments or recreational activities, THE Bus has a way to get you there. THE Bus is in the business of connecting people, and helping people become more self-sufficient in order to achieve their full potential.
