About us

Domus Jerusalem, Inc. is a registered US non-profit charity under the auspices of the Archdiocese of Boston and the Roman Catholic Church.

The board of Trustees of Domus Jerusalem, Inc. includes Cardinal Sean O'Malley of Boston, chairman, Archbishop Charles Chaput of Philadelphia, and Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio of Brooklyn, together with Kiko Arguello, Carmen Hernandez, and Fr. Mario Pezzi, initiators of the NeoCatechumenal Way.

Domus Jerusalem, Inc. was formed in 2011 for the purpose of raising funds and fostering the development of a Catholic church, retreat center, seminary and ecumenical center in the Holy City of Jerusalem; modeled on the experience of the Domus Galilee, on the Mount of the Beatitudes on the Sea of Galilee.

The Domus Jerusalem project has many supporters and benefactors from around the world. The late Archbishop Pietro Sambi, Vatican Nuncio to the US, was an early supporter of both the Domus Jerusalem and the Domus Galilee: he personally visited the Domus Galilee praising the magnificent building. In Europe, active supporters of the Domus Project are Josef Cardinal Cordes of the Vatican, Antonio Cardinal Rouco of Madrid, and Christoph Cardinal Schonborn of Vienna. In Israel, Rabbi David Rosen and Rabbi Yitz Greenberg and many other Rabbis have acclaimed the ecumenical mission of the Domus Project. The Mayor of Upper Galilee, Aharon Valency, and senior Israeli officials have endorsed efforts to bring Christians and Jews together with political and logistical support for the Domus projects.
