Ara Walline, ND
Dr. Walline, a graduate of Bastyr University with her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine, practices family medicine and primary care in the greater Seattle area. With an abiding trust in the resilience of the human body and its capacity to heal, she enjoys working with patients of all ages to offset the effects of acute or chronic stress and to optimize the genetic and environmental factors that contribute to their overall health and wellness.
Dr. Walline has completed advanced clinical training in biofeedback and a range of stress reduction techniques which she teaches to her patients. She also pursued a 2-year certificate program in constitutional homeopathy through the New England School of Homeopathy. Specific areas of clinical interest include: autoimmune disease, as well as nervous system and endocrine disorders.
Dr. Walline values truly integrative health care that blends the best of modern science with the more traditional forms of medicine such as Western Herbalism, Homeopathy, Ayurveda, and Chinese Medicine. Her appreciation for such integrative medicine is based on her own diverse professional and academic experiences within our current health care system. As an undergraduate at Dartmouth College, her interest in healthcare led her to pursue a Minor in Public Policy as well as to volunteer at a women’s transitional center in Boston and at a non-governmental organization (NGO) focused on Women’s Health at the United Nations. Professionally, she worked in pharmaceutical sales where she gained a valuable understanding of the American healthcare and insurance system and in the area of public health for a Native American owned consulting company where she was first exposed to a holistic philosophy of health and wellness. While earning her graduate degree, she explored the world of clinical research and investigation by working at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in a lab focused on understanding the role of the immune system in autoimmune diseases, cancer, and pregnancy-related conditions.
Dr. Walline sees patients at the Kitsap Clinic of Natural Medicine in Bremerton, Bainbridge Natural Health and Unravel Therapeutics in Seattle.
When she is not seeing patients, Dr. Walline enjoys exploring the natural world with her family, gardening and growing vegetables in her backyard, and reading mystery novels.
She is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP), the American Herbalists Guild (AHG) and the Washington State Association of Naturopathic Physicians (WANP).
