Cracked Condenser Pipes Found In Sendai Reactor
Workers at the Sendai nuclear plant have found cracked tubes in the condensers that allowed seawater to migrate into the secondary cooling loop. The five cracked tubes found so far have been plugged to prevent their use. Sendai’s reactor has three condensers with 26,000 tubes each. A worker reported to the onsite office saying he felt unwell. He was transported to Iwaki hospital and died soon after arriving. TEPCO has given no further details about what kind of work he was doing or his cause of death. On the same day dust monitoring at monitoring post 2 alarmed then went back down to normal. Fukushima Power System Failure Takes Down Ice Wall & Nitrogen Injection
The power system to operate the freezing of the ice wall and also the nitrogen interting system for the damaged reactors failed early in the morning of July 28th. Ten hours later NHK reported that the two systems were back online using a different power system. The frozen wall takes a longer time frame to begin thawing out.
