Killer Instinct season 3 coming in 2016, Battletoads' Rash joins the game today

A third season of Xbox One fighting game Killer Instinct is coming next year, bringing a new batch of fighters to the title, Microsoft announced at its Gamescom press conference today. Season 3 will launch in March 2016, both on Xbox One and Windows 10.

Microsoft had another surprise Killer Instinct announcement today: Rash from Battletoads is coming to the game ... and he's coming today. But Rash's availability is limited for now and will be playable as part of a test period that runs until Sept. 8 at 12 a.m. PT. In order to get access to Rash, Killer Instinct players will need to have either purchased some piece of Killer Instinct content or own the recently launched Rare Replay collection.

More information about Rash is available in an official FAQ.

Here's our first look at Rash in action in Killer Instinct.
