The Paris Île-de-France Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a public institution administered by 98 business leaders elected for a five-year term.

The Paris Île-de-France Regional Chamber of commerce and Industry represents the interests of 844,000 businesses in the Paris region, representing nearly a quarter of the entire French business community.

It spans eight local Chambers : Paris, Seine-et-Marne, Versailles-Yvelines, Essonne, Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis, Val-de-Marne and Val-d’Oise.
Its president is Pierre-Antoine Gailly.

The Paris region is both geographically attractive and a key economic hub for France and Europe, accounting for 31% of total French GDP. It is also the leading employment area in Europe and the leading region for the export and import of goods.

Actively involved alongside the players which drive the regional economy, the Paris Île-de-France Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry has four key missions.

  • It represents the interests of the business community in its relations with local, national and European authorities. The Paris Île-de-France Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry proposes measures to foster business development, growth and competitiveness, and works to ensure that they are integrated into economic and regional policies.

o   130 experts in economics, law, taxation and regional development

o   5 monitoring centres for legal and economic affairs

o   50 reports, studies and position papers issued each year

  • It helps businesses to grow. Whether in business creation, takeover or transfer, human resources or regulation, the Paris Île-de-France Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s consultants support businesses in their local or international development.

o   9,000 businesses helped in their international development

  • It trains young people and professionals in the 24 schools attached to it. The schools attached to the Paris Île-de-France Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry train young people and existing employees in order to meet the expectations and needs of businesses as closely as possible.

o   31,700 students (including 16,700 apprentices) trained each year, plus 30,000 adults in continuing education

o   500 courses, ranging from vocational skills to doctorate level

o   763 international partnership agreements in 140 countries

o   Recruitment of foreign students

The international recruitment department selects the best students from all over the world for the Management Masters at five elite business schools (ESCP Europe, HEC Paris, AUDENCIA Nantes, EMLYON Business School and SKEMA Business School), as well as for other establishments such as the design and fashion school La Fabrique. Courses attract over a thousand applicants a year from some 80 different countries.

o   French Touch summer schools

In summer 2014, a number of the schools attached to the Paris Île-de-France Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Ferrandi, Gobelins, ISIPCA, Tecomah and the Centre de Langue Française) are offering courses in areas for which France is particularly renowned, including gastronomy and culinary arts, perfumery, fashion, film animation and landscape design.
