MONTREAL - The Montreal Alouettes announced on Thursday that the club has signed international kicker Boris Bede to a two-year deal.

Bede (6'4", 225 lbs.) experienced successful moments throughout his entire college career in Quebec suiting up for five years with the Laval University Rouge et Or, where he was part of the championship winning teams that lifted the Vanier Cup in 2012 and 2013. During his university career, the 25-year old made 63 of his 78 field goal attempts, including his career-longest 44-yarder, which he kicked in 2013. He also maintained an average of 39.4 yards on 292 punts.

The Toulon, France native was previously discovered by Rouge et Or head coach Glen Constantin, just when he was on the verge of playing soccer for the Sherbrooke University Vert & Or. Bede quickly became one of the top kickers in the country, he who was named to the RSEQ All-Star team in 2012, 2013 and 2014. He was rewarded for his great 2014 season when he was named the special teams player of the year in the Quebec Conference.
