From creating a French opera to recreating 18th century Venice from the view of Venetian painter, Canaletto…the VoxelBox is capable of anything.
Today, we present the project we’ve been creating for the Brooks Museum in Memphis:
Exploring “The Grand Canal from the Campo San Vio”
This project is the first time the VoxelBox has used its newly formed mechanics team to help breathe life into the world. Users will interact with historical figures to become a part of daily Venetian life.
[Editor’s note: This project is not available for download, but is available at the exhibit.]
Not only have we created a visually stunning and accurate portrayal of 18th Venice, we have populated it with contemporaries of the painter, Canaletto.
Some of the characters you will meet is Canaletto’s agent, Joseph Smith and his wife Catherine Toft, the composer Vivaldi, and George Proctor…who first owned the painting.
Where can I go to experience this?
This project is part of an exhibit shown in Memphis by the Brooks Museum. The exhibition will be live from June 6th to September 13th, 2015. For more information or any questions about the Brooks Museum and the exhibit:
