Biography

Robert Fioretti is a partner in the law firm of Fioretti & Lower in Chicago. The firm specializes in all aspects of trial and appellate practice in civil, criminal, and administrative law. Fioretti's current practice encompasses all areas of environmental law, administrative law, civil and criminal law and partnership and corporate counseling. He is former senior supervising attorney of the General Litigation Division for the Office for the Corporation Counsel for the City of Chicago, where he handled and was involved in over 500 civil rights cases. As a result, Fioretti's personal trial experiences have led to over 100 state and federal verdicts and appellate court decisions.

Fioretti earned his J.D. degree from Northern Illinois University College of Law in 1978. He is president of the Northern Illinois University Alumni Board of Governors and past president of the NIU College of Law Alumni Council. He has authored several law review articles and is a frequent lecturer throughout the country on municipal law, civil rights, trial techniques, and the improvement of the jury trial process.

Professionally, he is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, American Bar Association, American Judicature Society, Board of Directors of the Chicago Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, Justinian Society, and serves as vice president for Development of the Chicago Volunteer Legal Services.

Fioretti is past president, volunteer and active member of the Historic Pullman Foundation that oversees the Historic Pullman area on the far south side of Chicago, the "Florence Hotel" state museum, and several other federal, state, and local landmark buildings. He is former vice president of the 105-year-old Chicago Athletic Association in downtown Chicago. He is also a committed volunteer for the arts, AIDS patients' support programs, and for chronically ill elderly individuals in Chicago.
