After a last minute Padre Island trip cancelation we decided to give San Antonio and Fredericksburg a visit. We had a great time as usual. It was hot during the day but bearable compared to mid summer. The nights were very pleasant and the crowd was light.
Very beautiful area, beautiful sculpture and paintings to look at, very safe at night, highly recommend.
Great place to visit and catch some football games at several pubs on the river. Great atmosphere also all around the river.
The river walk is a great place to take a stroll with a good friend. My friend and I explored this area and had lunch here. It's bustling with people on a nice day but also relaxing and peaceful in a way.
The Riverwalk is a fun place to be in San Antonio. We had a fun time while there. Take the boat thru the canal if you have time. They offer a senior and military discount.

This is a walkway that has great scenery that you can walk. It is 12 miles long,so wear comfortable shoes. Went on a Tour and the Tour Bus Driver stated that they throw a chemical into the water so you can not see the trash at the bottom in certain parts.
The riverwalk is very nice. Lots of shops and restaurants, a boat tour, and safe. Worth a visit. Wish other cities had something like this.
The Alamo was actually a mission so it is not very big. We walked each room and saw all the artifacts. The artifacts are well worth the visit. It can get very crowded.
Great place to spend a few hours. There is lots to eat, drink and places to shop or just sit. They have live music, lots of people watching and of course, trips on the barges n the river.
