Firefighters killed in the line of duty were honoured at the memorial at Marion Dewar Plaza outside City Hall Friday ahead of a national day of mourning.
The ceremony, hosted by the Ottawa Fire Services and the Ottawa Firefighters Community Foundation, was preceeded by a march along Elgin Street.
Flags will be at half-mast at City of Ottawa sites, including fire stations, from sunrise to sunset on Sunday, the National Day of Mourning for Fallen Firefighters.
