Say Cheese! Celebs Share Sweet Snaps of Their Kids’ First Day of School

09/10/2015 at 05:00 PM ET

Summer is officially over — at least on the school calendar.

And in honor of Hollywood’s mini scholars heading back to class, celeb parents — including Tori Spelling, Reese Witherspoon and Tiffani Thiessen — are taking to social media to share photos of their children’s first day.

“Big day in The McDermott household! All 4 babes went #backtoschool today! Each rocking their individual styles. All 4 picked out their own outfits completely!” Spelling captioned a cute candid of her children, Liam, 8, Stella, 7, Hattie, 4 next month, and Finn, 3, flashing their picture-perfect smiles.

And the Wild actress posted a shot of her youngest, son Tennessee, 3 this month, sending his big brother Deacon, 12, off to school.

“Waiting for the bus with brother,” Witherspoon wrote alongside the snap.

Some captions would be nice, I don’t know who half these kids are.

@Lau – If you click “view as slideshow” (above the first pic), there are captions if you mouse over the photos. Kind of annoying they didn’t add them to this post, but at least they are there.

Oops, I just realized that the captions pop up if you hover over the pics in the post too.

I wonder if these celebs send their kids to private school or if they go to public school and get destroyed by Common Core.

Don’t know most of these kids, nice pictures though.

Cute pictures!

Is it me or is Liam looking fat? If not, then that’s not a flattering photo of him.

Robin on

I can only see Tori and Resse’s photos. How do I see the rest?

Boobymama on

@Robin please be careful what you say about children and their bodies online, they are old enough to search their own names and it would be such a shame for him to see a negative body image comment about himself. These are children, lets lift them up and keep any negative comments to yourself.

@Boobymana:
Not trying to be negative. Just concerned Liam us getting fat. Child obesity is a major concern.
I have a 9 1/2 year old cousin and he he fits clothes size 16. His mother and grandmother just say he’s “big”, not wanting to he’s fat.
Fat kids can just as easily have the same health issues as fat adults.

I want to know who the kids are!! Names under each picture would have been nice.

Those blue Jean shorts on the blonde girl are way too short.

FYI, if you move your cursor over the picture, it tells you who posted it.

Wow, great pics and Candace’s kids sure have grown up!!

Is it weird that I have no plans to do these kinds of photos with my soon-to-be-born child? Is it weird that I find these kinds of photos obnoxious?

Mrs. B on

The witch who’s commenting about a child being fat needs to fly away on her broom.

@robin, you’re not worried about childhood obesity, you’re a bully picking on children. Children go through growth spurts and thin out. Adults like you are so miserable with themselves and have their own insecurities so they pick on easy victims, children, to make themselves feel better. I’m sure his parents and pediatrician are monitoring his health, please don’t make it your concern.

I think Hattie looks just like her grandmother Spelling!

to “is it”
yes it’s weird you don’t plan to document your child’s milestones- but that’s just me- and I don’t find it “obnoxious” by any stretch- maybe you should stop at one child- you have fulfilled your destiny.
