Microsoft Officially Announces Xbox 360 Launch Price - $299 and $399

Microsoft has officially announced the launch price of the Xbox 360. As they have said all along, it will be available with and without the removable 20GB hard drive for $299 and $399 respectably. Here are the details.

$399 Premium Edition Xbox 360

The Premium Edition will cost $399 and come with a number of extra peripherals that would normally retail for $200 extra. It will also feature metalic detailing on the system itself which will distinguish it from the $299 version.

The Core System version of the Xbox 360 will retail for $299 and is a bare bones system that will only allow you to play games. It can, of course, be upgraded later with a hard drive to be a more fully featured system.

Peripheral Pricing

Microsoft also revealed the pricing for the peripherals individually. If you get the premium system you shoudl be all set, but if you choose to get the core system you'll need at least a memory card or hard drive.
