Ariel Diaz
Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Ariel Diaz is an experienced entrepreneur with an incredible passion for improving the educational landscape for generations to come. Before Boundless, Ariel co-founded YouCastr, an online video platform that enabled hundreds of high schools to broadcast and sell live sports and other events to parents and the community. In addition, Ariel founded a consumer web consulting company and worked in management consulting in Boston, MA.

Ariel holds a A.B., B.E., and Masters of Engineering Management from Dartmouth College, speaks three languages, and loves all things orange.
Matt Hodgson
Chief Technology Officer
Matt is an entrepreneur and engineer with an insatiable desire to design and build amazing products. Before Boundless, Matt built consumer products as the CTO of TurningArt, a service that makes art more accessible to everyday people. Matt has also worked with Ariel in the past, as co-founder and CTO of YouCastr, a streaming video platform for high schools. Along the way Matt also developed the core products and technology for many startups, including video processing and transcoding infrastructure for 3 Play Media, motion capture and analysis software for Equusys, a live trading market for StarStreet, and a video streaming and recording platform for Take The Interview. Matt holds a B.A. in Physics from Ithaca College, a B.E. and Masters of Engineering Management from Dartmouth College, and serves on the board of the Dartmouth Boston Entrepreneur Network.
Molly Lindsay
VP, Content
As VP Content, Molly leads content development and partnerships at Boundless. Molly joined Boundless from McKinsey and Co., where she led strategy projects for clients in the private, public, and social sectors. Previous professional experience includes evaluating high-growth startups in emerging markets as part of the portfolio expansion team at Endeavor, as well as developing K-12 curriculum at Expeditionary Learning. Molly holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BA in History from Yale University, where she graduated with honors. She teaches media studies as an adjunct professor at Bunker Hill Community College, speaks Mandarin, and loves living in Boston.

Hal Abelson
Founder, MIT OpenCourseWare
Harold (Hal) Abelson is co-chair of the MIT Council on Educational Technology, which oversees MIT's strategic educational technology activities and investments. In this capacity, he played key roles in fostering MIT institutional educational technology initiatives such MIT OpenCourseWare and DSpace. Abelson was recipient in 1992 of the Bose Award (MIT's School of Engineering teaching award), and winner of the 1995 Taylor L. Booth Education Award given by IEEE Computer Society, cited for his continued contributions to the pedagogy and teaching of introductory computer science. Hal holds an A.B. degree from Princeton University and a Ph.D. degree in mathematics from MIT.
Tim Healy
Co-Founder and CEO, EnerNOC
Tim co-founded EnerNOC in 2001 and serves as its Chairman and CEO. In 2007, he led EnerNOC's initial public offering, which was named IPO of the Year by the Association for Corporate Growth Boston and Mass High Tech magazine, and received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in New England.

Prior to EnerNOC, Tim also co-founded Student Advantage, a Boston-based affinity marketing company that went public in 1999. Tim graduated from Dartmouth College with a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Economics, and received his MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
John Katzman
Founder, 2U | Founder, Princeton Review
John Katzman was the founder and served as CEO of 2U Inc, which works with research universities to create and administer high-quality online degree programs. 2U’s partners include the University of Southern California (USC), Georgetown University, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Prior to founding 2U, Katzman founded The Princeton Review, and served as its CEO until 2007. At that time, the Review helped over 50% of students applying to US colleges and universities each year find, get into, and pay for school. Further, it worked with hundreds of colleges and K-12 school districts to help them improve educational outcomes and university admissions.

Katzman is an innovative thinker on issues surrounding assessment, K12 choice, and university admissions. He is the co-author of five books, and a frequent lecturer and panelist. Over the years, Katzman has helped launch several start-ups, most recently as the Chairman of Noodle, a startup aspiring to be Google for education. He serves on the Boards of Directors for several non-profits, including the National Association of Independent Schools, the Woodrow Wilson Foundation, and the Silver Shield Foundation.
Brian K Balfour
VP of Growth, Hubspot
Brian is a serial entrepreneur who has helped pioneer companies in the social networking, virtual goods, and social gaming industries. Prior to working with Hubspot, Brian joined Boundless as a co-founder shortly after the seed round, and worked to help build our marketing and PR team. Brian also founded Viximo (acquired by Tapjoy), a social gaming distribution platform, managed new product initiatives at ZoomInfo, and was founder of multiple online community startups including the first college specific social network in 2003. Brian holds a Bachelor degree in Sports Business, Economics, and Applied Statistics from the University of Michigan.
Paul Freedman
Founder and CEO, Altius Education
Paul Freedman is the CEO of Ivy Bridge College. Paul previously founded and served as CEO of Altius Education. A longtime advocate for the transformative power of a college education, Paul has a strong track record of founding, managing, and investing in successful education ventures. Before founding Altius, Paul created Academic Engine, a college recruitment technology company that he later sold to Hobsons Inc. in 2004. In addition to his work with Altius, Paul continues to support a variety of startup organizations and innovators in the higher education community. He is a frequent panelist at events like HigherEdTech and the Big Ideas Fest and takes part in the ongoing conversation surrounding higher education and technology through his Huffington Post blog and numerous speaking engagements. Paul is a graduate of the University of Chicago with a B.A. in public policy and a concentration in law and economics.
Healy Jones
Startup Marketing Consultant
Healy is an entrepreneur and marketer who believes in the power of the internet and mobile devices to improve students lives. Healy led user acquisition and marketing at Boundless as VP of Marketing in 2013. Prior to joining Boundless, Healy was the VP of Marketing for OfficeDrop, an online storage platform for small businesses. Healy has also been a venture capitalist and investor with several venture capital and private equity funds, including Atlas Venture in Boston and Summit Partners in Palo Alto. Healy holds an A.B. from Dartmouth College and has an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Sean Lindsay
VP Engineering, Tapjoy | Co-Founder, Founders Mentors
Sean is a technical advisor to Boundless. Sean is an experienced technical entrepreneur and leader with a strong history designing and delivering new products to emerging markets. Prior to Tapjoy, Sean served in a variety of engineering and technology leadership positions at Viximo (acquired by Tapjoy), PanGo (acquired by InnerWireless), BEA (ultimately acquired by Oracle), Upromise (ultimately acquired by Sallie Mae), and Novera (acquired by Mercator). Sean holds Masters and Bachelors degrees in Computer Systems Engineering from Boston University and several U.S. patents.
Tim O'Reilly
Founder and CEO, O'Reilly Media
Tim O'Reilly is the founder and CEO of O'Reilly Media, Inc., thought by many to be the best computer book publisher in the world. Over the years, Tim has built a culture where sustainable innovation is a key tenet of business philosophy. His active engagement with technology communities both drives the company's product development and informs its marketing. Tim is on the board of Safari Books Online and is a partner in O'Reilly AlphaTech Ventures. Tim graduated from Harvard College in 1975 with a B.A. cum laude in classics. His honors thesis explored the tension between mysticism and logic in Plato's dialogues.
Aaron White
Vice President, Venrock
Aaron White joined Venrock in 2013 and focuses on technology investments from the firm’s Cambridge, Massachusetts office. He was formerly a technology entrepreneur and co-founder of Boundless, a Venrock-backed education startup. Prior to Boundless, White engineered complex software debugging technologies, and has both created and consulted to consumer web & mobile projects that scaled to millions of users.

White holds a degree in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University.
John Wilbanks
Senior Fellow for Entrepreneurship, Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation
John Wilbanks is a Senior Fellow in Entrepreneurship at the Kauffman Foundation and a Research Fellow at Lybba.org. He developed the Portable Legal Consent (PLC) concept and founded the Consent to Research (http://weconsent.us) project to steward PLC. He's worked at Harvard Law School, MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, the World Wide Web Consortium, the US House of Representatives, and Creative Commons. John also started a bioinformatics company called Incellico, which is now part of Selventa. He holds a bachelors degree in philosophy from Tulane with a thesis in epistemology and studied modern letters at the Sorbonne. John sits on the Board of Directors for Sage Bionetworks and iCommons, as well as the Advisory Boards for Boundless, Rock Health, Personalized Medicine, and Genomera.
Daniel Yates
Founder and CEO, Opower
As CEO, Dan Yates is responsible for the vision, strategy, and leadership of Opower. Yates led Opower’s initial public offering in April 2014. Previously, Dan was founder and CEO of Edusoft, an educational software company that provided assessment platforms to US public-school districts. He sold the 150-person, $20M company to publisher Houghton Mifflin in 2004. Dan then embarked on a year-long adventure with his wife, Tobie Whitman, driving from Alaska’s Arctic coast to the southernmost tip of South America. During the trip, Dan became aware of the shocking degradation of the natural environment in the Americas, and resolved to dedicate his professional life to sustaining what remains of our natural world. In 2011 Dan received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2011 Greater Washington Award, and in 2009, 2010, and 2011, he was named a "Tech Titan" by the Washingtonian. Dan received his BA in Computer Science, summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Harvard.
SJ Klein
Trustee, Wikimedia Foundation
Samuel Klein has spent many years developing collaborative communities. He is an advocate for free universal access to knowledge and tools, and a veteran Wikipedian, founding the project's first newsletter and translator network, and organizing last year's international Wikimedia conference in Cambridge. Previously he has worked to develop software and supporting communities for machine-assisted human translation, and to set up free education centers. Klein is interested in local and sustainable knowledge development, and structures and principles that help this flourish. He establishes ties with teachers, game developers, and publishers, helping them to understand the need and uses for free and open materials, and to work with the global community around open education.
