Don's Rail Photos

I am now giving you the choice between life and death, between God's bless and God's curse, and I call heaven and earth to witness the choice you make.  Choose life.

Deuteronmy 30:19

4000 children daily lose their right to choose life because their mothers choose to abort them.

Welcome

This project began in 1946 when I decided to start collecting railroad photos and take pictures. I had been reading Railroad Magazine, and there was a section for people who did this. I joined the Engine Picture Club and was a proud card carrying member. You can read the rest of the story on the introduction page.

Early in 1998 there was a major break through when I got a scanner. I realized that I could increase my enjoyment of this hobby of 53 years by sharing in a way that was never available in the past. I wrote email messages to the various railfan services offering to send scanned pictures under various categories. This was to make it easier for the recipients so that they would not have their email buried under unwanted material. Tom Chandler was one of the subscribers. He suggested the idea that it would be a lot easier to put the pictures on the web instead of mailing them out. He even put up a few to show how it could be done. The pages keep growing.

I originally listed by categories, but I find it is easier to list by railroad company since some railroads defy classification. There has been a changeover which is completed. All photos are now listed by the railroad company.

As further information, except for some of the older pages, the pictures are posted as "thumbs." To see a larger image, just click on the picture. Enjoy yourself. If you have any additional information, please send it along as we are constantly upgrading the pages.

Photographic Prints

I have been getting several requests for prints of the photos on these pages. I am happy to say that I can now provide this service. Please contact me by email if you are interested in purchasing prints. These are printed by a photo quality printer on high gloss paper. In fairness to my contributors, only photos from my collection will be printed. In addition, my photos can be rescanned at a higher resolution to allow for satisfactory reproduction. The contributor photos are stored only in digital format and cannot be enhanced for printing. Prices are $2 each for 3R prints, $3 for 4R prints, $4 for 5x7, and $5 for 8x10. Handling and shipping for $5 regardless of number or size.  Email Don's Depot
