Charlie Adams leaves Brentford to join United Soccer League side Louisville City

Charlie Adams has left Brentford FC to sign for United Soccer League outfit Louisville City.
The 20-year-old attacking midfield player flew to America in the middle of February and completed the switch to the Kentucky side – affiliated to Orlando City, a new Major League Soccer side based in Florida – this week.
Louisville City will play in the third tier of American football when the season starts later this month.
Charlie came through the Club’s youth ranks having first been spotted playing Futsal with the Brentford FC Community Sports Trust.
The 20-year-old made his First Team debut as a substitute in a 2-0 defeat away at Carlisle United in March 2013 and made three further substitute appearances towards the end of the 2013/14 season after being promoted to the First Team squad.
During his time with Brentford he had loan spells with Barnet and, this season, with Stevenage.
Mark Warburton, Brentford FC Manager, said: “Charlie’s move to Louisville is, I believe, one of the first of what will soon become a significant number of young players seeking to further develop their football careers.
“Charlie is a technically gifted player who now needs the benefit of regular football at an appropriate level.
“The game in the US is progressing at a truly staggering speed and the USL now offers an excellent opportunity for young players to develop through a highly competitive environment with the eyes of the MLS clubs very much upon them.
“Charlie will benefit enormously both on and off the pitch and I wish him well for what I am sure will prove to be a very rewarding experience.”
