TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER?  Harley is a young cheeky scally from Yorkshire, who has found himself in London doing what he loves and making too much money

ARE THERE ANY SIMILARITIES BETWEEN YOU AND YOUR CHARACTER?
I am basically a young cheeky scally from Yorkshire who has found himself in London doing what I love and making too much money – oh and we look alike too!

WOULD YOU LIKE OR DISLIKE YOUR CHARACTER IF YOU WERE INTRODUCED IN REAL LIFE?
Aside from what I said above – when you look a little closer Harley and I are both very different people.  He is a lot younger for a start he is also quite dim, but rather than attributing this to ignorance, I put it to naivety which makes him quite endearing.  When he does come over as crass it is only him trying to fit in to a world of which he knows nothing.  So though we have little in common I would find him difficult not to like.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR CHARACTERS CLOTHES AND ACESSORIES?
Harley just wears loud sportswear which is fine because though I don’t share the same taste now – I would have when I was younger.  However it has to be said that in nearly every other scene I find myself naked, topless or in a towel.  There is also a constant debate between myself and Annie in the Costume department in which I try and convince her that my character Harley just wouldn’t wear a ‘spangley’ gold bracelet.

WHAT IS THE BEST OUTFIT YOU HAVE TO WEAR?
I love my suit for the wedding from Gary Anderson on Saville Row.  However I proudly showed a picture of me in it to a friend and he said I looked like a pimp, I still haven’t lived it down!

WHAT IS YOUR STYLE?   DO YOU CARE ABOUT CLOTHES/APPEARANCE?
My style is extremely casual, jeans, t-shirts, trainers in fact I’ve never owned a suit or a tie.  Every time I go to a dinner I have to borrow one from costume.

ANY FAVOURITE BRANDS/DESIGNERS?
I love all of the following:  Diesel Style Lab, Marc Jacobs, Raw Power, Jones, Hip, Paul Smith, Buddist Punk, and Punk Royal.

DO YOU EVER TREAT YOURSELF TO EXOTIC OR LUXURY HEALTH AND BEAUTY TREATMENTS?
I wouldn’t dare! I’m from a place called Pontefract where brushing your teeth is considered the height of vanity!

COSMETIC ENHANCEMENT FEATURES A GREAT DEAL IN THIS SERIES OF FOOTBALLERS’ WIVES.  COULD YOU EVER GO UNDER THE KNIFE?
No way – the fear of facing the wrath of my friends would be more painful than the process itself!

DO YOU HAVE A PREFERRED MORE NATURAL WAY OF KEEPING IN SHAPE?
I go to the gym near where I live and in the week I eat healthily but come the weekend all bets are off!

IF YOU SUDDENLY RECEIVED A HUGE PREMIER FOOTBALLER’S SALARY OVERNIGHT – WHAT IS THE FIRST LUXURY ITEM YOU WOULD RUSH OUT AND BUY?
I would buy Liverpool FC and build a team so strong that Manchester United would never win anything ever again!

WHAT’S THE BEST THING ABOUT BEING INVOLVED WITH FOOTBALLERS’ WIVES?
It sounds a cliché but it is only so because it’s true – I get up every day and get paid for doing what I love.  Also to play football and act for me is a match made in heaven.  The cars aren’t bad either.

WHAT DO YOUR FRIENDS OR FAMILY THINK ABOUT YOU BEING IN THE SHOW?
My mother is the most excited she already has a scrap book on me and has included every single picture of piece of me when I appear in magazines or newspapers.  In fact the first time I was in TV Times my mother was so excited she walked to my Auntie’s house in her dressing gown to show her.

HAVE YOU FILMED A MEMORABLE SCENE YET?
Sarah and I had a scene in the wedding episode in which we accidentally take off in a hot air balloon.  I was first on set and met Rick who was the actor playing the balloon pilot (Sarah who was a bit late didn’t!)  When the balloon took off for the first time as we got up to about 30-40 feet high – Rick ran out doing his stuff for the cameras and shouted ‘pull the cord’ as this line hadn’t been originally scripted Sarah, got in a panic and not knowing he was an actor screamed at me ‘Jamie pull it, what’s going on’.  I think she was terrified we were not obeying safety instructions.   However, when the camera cut I burst out laughing and told Sarah who he was and explained he was supposed to say the line.  We both laughed and laughed so hard that we nearly fell out of the basket.  Needless to say we had to do the scene again!

WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR FREE TIME?
I love football, going to the theatre, drinking with my friends and going shopping and listening to music.

CAN YOU PLAY FOOTBALL –  IF SO – AT WHAT LEVEL ?
I was a semi pro!

WHERE WERE YOU BORN AND BROUGHT UP?
Pontefract in West Yorkshire.  The home of Pontefract cakes, Haribo sweets and Pontefract castle.

WHAT ROLE ARE YOU MOST WELL KNOWN FOR?
I was taken out of drama school after Christmas and haven’t spent a week out of work since!  I was in Trevor’s World of Sport, Doctors, Heartbeat but this role will be my biggest!

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST PROFESSIONAL ACTING ROLE?
A footballer in Trevor’s World of Sport  but I was in ‘Kes’ at the West Yorkshire play house when I was 16.

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST EVER JOB?
I used to wash pots in my local pub when I was 15 and now their football team want signed pictures of me to raffle – that seems really strange.

DO YOU HAVE A GOOD STORY ABOUT A PREVIOUS ROLE/JOB?
When I filmed Heartbeat in April I stayed in a five star hotel in Leeds for the first two weeks of my time up there then on the 3rd week I was moved nearer the production to Goathland.  I was scheduled to have 3 days off straight away and people asked me what I would do all day.  I naively replied ‘I would just shop, use the gym, go for lunch’.  They all thought it was hilarious -as there is nothing in Goathland but sheep and fields for miles and miles.  In the actual village there is one pub, one shop, no signal for mobile phones and I was staying in a cottage belonging to a little old lady.  They were three very long days!

WHAT IS YOUR STAR SIGN?
Aries

AND DO YOU BELIEVE IN THINGS LIKE THIS?
I don’t believe in star signs but then again I have never read them. So I guess I could be missing out on some great advice.
