According to Quiter, which gets its hands on the trusted Japanese news magazines early, Famitsu has official confirmation that Camelot Software Planning is underway with sequels to both Mario Tennis and Mario Golf. The site further indicates that pictures of each title are featured in the mag.
Apparently the screenshots look very nice and in the article the Takahashi Bros. at Camelot say they are adding more to Mario Tennis, making it more than just a cookie cutter sequel. Unfortunately they did not comment on a release date or detail any other gameplay mechanics.
Mario Tennis and Golf on the N64 were great sports titles, and surely we'd all be very excited to see both games release this year. However, we await comment from Nintendo who we assume is publishing them.
