As a visitor to this Site, you can engage in many activities without providing any personal information. In connection with other activities, such as posting to the discussion forums, you must "register" with the site which requires providing your name and e-mail address. You are encouraged but not required to supply other personal information so that other members of the local climbing community can learn about you. Your personal information is completely confidential; it is never given, shared, or sold to any individual, organization, or business. Only the site administrator has access to this information. In the unlikely event that personal information is subpoened by law enforcement agencies, we will provide only the minimal amount of information that we are legally compelled to produce.

The online registration form requests your first and last name. Although technically you may provide an alias to complete this form, we prefer that your provide your real name so as to further the site mission. If you provide an alias, we may contact you by e-mail to see if we can address your concerns for privacy in some other manner.

Activity Logging Technology
We also gather certain technical and routing information about your computer to facilitate your use of the Site and its services. For example, we may collect the browser type, operating system, CPU speed, and the Internet Protocol (IP) address of your computer. This information is used only by administrators to measure traffic patterns on the Site in order to improve how the site is navigated and displayed. We do not track any individuals or preserve any information relating to identified users. We do not set any persistent cookies. We do set a session cookie so that you don't have to login at every page you visit. A session cookie is deleted when you logout or when you close your browser.

Account page where you can view and make changes to your personal information.

Privacy Preferences
In order to improve communication among members you are encouraged to allow other members of the site to contact you by e-mail via your personal contact form. You indicate this preference in the "Contact Settings" box on your My Account page. The default setting is "no contact" so you must deliberately check this box to enable e-mail contact. Even when this setting is enabled your e-mail address is not made public. Note that the site administrator is able to contact you even if you choose not to enable this feature.
