Charlotte Moore

Controller, BBC 1

Charlotte Moore is one of the most influential women in television, having succeeded to the top job of controller at BBC 1 in 2013. Previously she was the BBC’S commissioning editor for documentaries and acting controller of daytime television, and under her leadership, programmes broadcast include The Great British Bake Off, Terry Pratchett’s Living with Alzheimer’s, 7/7: One Day in London and Inside Claridges. After graduating from the University of Bristol, Moore began travelling the world to find stories and footage for her own freelance films which include Lagos Airport (Channel 4) and award-winning series Living With Cancer for BBC 1. She became head of documentaries at IWC Media before moving to the BBC in 2009. Moore’s content budget of £1 billion gives her more financial muscle than any other channel controller.
