Benedict Cumberbatch

Actor

Despite his television actor parents trying to steer him away from the industry, Cumberbatch studied Drama at the University of Manchester before training at LAMDA. Today, he is not only a veteran of the stage, but has translated his theatrical success to film and television with star turns in Parade’s End, 12 Years a Slave, The Hobbit, The Imitation Game and, of course, Sherlock. In his time he has amassed both an Olivier Award and an Emmy, not to mention countless other nominations for his work on stage and screen. Cumberbatch now has a legion of fans (both male and female) and the honour of being named one of the Time 100 Most Influential People in the World, which is hardly an elementary achievement.
