Dante Festival York

11.05.16 - 13.05.16
York Racecourse

A three-day feast of flat-racing, the traditional Dante Festival offers a horse-racing extravaganza with seven races on each day (Wednesday-Friday), starting at 1-30 p.m. (Gates open at 11.15 a.m.). The meeting is built around three main events: the Tattersall's Musidora Stakes (Wednesday), the Dante Stakes (Thursday) and the Emirates Airline Yorkshire Cup (Friday).

With prize money for the three days in excess of £860,000 and the flagship races retained at last year's record level of prize funds, the meeting again looks set to attract the very best horses to what many regard as their favourite meeting of the year.

Known as the Knavesmire, York Racecourse was founded in 1731. Today it hosts 15 prestigious race meetings annually. The May Festival is a much-anticipated curtain raiser, with many world-class horses making their debut for the season.

The course offers outstanding facilities, including the £20 million Ebor Stand, which opened in 2003. It is just over a mile from the city centre.
