Choosing a Bridal Bouquet
The wedding bouquet completes the bride's look and must complement the dress. The colour of the bouquet must fit in with the wedding scheme - e.g. country, city, vintage, modern, and should coordinate with the bridesmaids' dresses, the flowers at the ceremony and the reception.
It is best to keep flowers simple and only have one or two types of bloom
Most bouquets will also include a little greenery.
It is usually cheapest and best to choose seasonal flowers.
The bride must like the scent of the flowers and avoid anything too pollen heavy.
The bouquet should be held at hip-height; if it's held too high the line of the dress is spoilt.
Often, the groom's buttonhole matches the bride's flowers, and the best man, ushers' and fathers' buttonholes reflect the bridesmaids' flowers.
The bouquet can be dried after the wedding by hanging it upside down in a dark place. There are also specialist companies who professionally preserve the bouquet by freeze-drying.
It is traditional for the bride to throw her bouquet before she leaves the wedding.
