Jordan Romero

This boy has got some high expectations that’s for sure. Jordan Romero achieved his climb on Mt. Everest, the world’s highest mountain at 29,035 feet on Saturday. He has almost conquered his mission of reaching the highest peaks on each continent. Now that’s brave! Be sure to check out photos and videos below.

As a biography, Jordan Romero is from Big Bear Lake, California and was born on July 12, 1996 so his age is 13 years old. Besides mountaineering, he also enjoys: BMX, DH Biking, Mountain Biking, Skateboarding, Rock Jumping, and Snowshoeing. Basically anything that involves the outdoors and a thrill. He is close to accomplishing his goal of climbing the highest mountains peaks of the seven continents. Next up, Mt. Vinson in Antartica.

This record-breaking experience has been more than exciting, but rather emotional. Mt. Everest’s youngest climber spoke with his mother, Leigh Anne Drake, via satellite phone and said:

“Mom, I’m calling you from the top of the world”.

Romero’s mom watched her son’s every move up the mountain side on a GPS tracker online. Of his greatest accomplishment, Drake said, “There were lots of tears and ‘I love you! I love you!”‘ finally advising “him to get his butt back home.”

This amazing young teen, began climbing mountains at the age of just 10, becoming “the youngest American to summit Africa’s famous Mt. Kilimanjaro”. His other towering triumphs include being the world’s youngest climber to scale Mt. Elbrus in Europe at 15,510 feet and South America’s Mt. Aconcaguain at 22,841-foot. More impressive, “he is also one of only two climbers to reach the summit of North America’s 20,320-foot Mt. McKinley”.

In his adventureous climb, Jordan was accompanied by his team including three Sherpa guides and his dad. He started on the “Chinese side” base of the mountain.

According to Romero’s blog, “Their dreams have now come true. Everyone sounded unbelievably happy.” Before setting foot, he posted, “Every step I take is finally toward the biggest goal of my life, to stand on top of the world.”

Wow, what a remarkable kid! Now that he has made it to the top, he has to make his way down safely. Just like they say, what goes up, must come down. What a fantastic story!
