  •     A4 cardboard sheet
  •     Small throw-away spatula

Protect a large flat work surface with newspaper. Place broken plate upside down and fit pieces together leaving 3-4mm gaps between all pieces.

Completely cover all gaps, securing with masking tape. Once entire plate is firmly taped back together gently turn over.

Squeeze even amounts of adhesive and filler onto cardboard mixing surface, add tiny 1mm drop of paint tint and mix thoroughly with spatula. Work without delay to avoid drying, continuing to add tint until desired colour is achieved.

Use spatula to fill gaps with coloured glue and remove excess. Clean up either side of gaps with acteone soaked cotton tips.

Leave plate to set following adhesive manufacturers instructions, hanging only when complete drying time has been met. Hang flat bottom plates with velcro strips and use plate hangers for those with a rim underneath.

6. Tip

To break plates with clean fractures, hold plate right side up and flat 20-30cms from concrete floor and let drop.
