Victor Dubowitz, MD, PhD, FRCP, FRCPCH is Emeritus Professor of Pediatrics at the University of London Imperial College School of Medicine, Hammersmith Campus, at the Hammersmith Hospital in London. He is a co-author of Muscle Biopsy: A Practical Approach, 4th Edition.
Born in Beaufort West, South Africa, Dr. Dubowitz received his undergraduate and postgraduate training at the University of Cape Town, South Africa and the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom.
Dr. Dubowitz has made major clinical and research contributions in the fields of neonatal neurology and neuromuscular disorders in children. He has published several hundred contributions related to these fields and other aspects of pediatric neurology and pediatrics, including a series of books authored by himself or in collaboration with his wife, Dr. Lilly Dubowitz. Dr. Dubowitz has shared his knowledge not only in writing, but also in speaking engagements. There are only a handful of countries in which the Dubowitz’s have not given an invited or honorary lecture or contributed to seminars or workshops. Dr. Dubowitz was also the first president of the new European Paediatric Neurology Society and the founding editor of the European Journal of Paediatric Neurology.
