Irrational Games’ long-awaited BioShock sequel is the best first-person shooter of 2013. Gorgeous art direction make the sky-city of Columbia feel like a lucid dream, while punchy weapons like the Sky Hook and sadistic Vigors such as Murder of Crows kept the combat fresh. Meanwhile, the story still managed to sock us in the gut, even when we knew a big twist was coming. Elizabeth, Booker, Comstock, and the Lutece twins are all great characters that made us care about how the unbelievable events played out. The end result is a first-person shooter that stuck with you long after the post-credits scene ended.
