President. Professor, writer and lecturer, Ada Aharoni is co
founder of WCJE, and Director and
Editor of its website. She was born in Cairo and now lives in Haifa,
Israel. She studied at the Alvernia School in Zamalek, and her name was
Andree Yadid. She received her M.Phil at the London University, and
her PhD Degree on Nobel Prize Saul Bellow, at the Hebrew University in
Jerusalem. She has published twenty-five books to date, half on them on the
Jews of Egypt (amazon.com) that have won several prestigious prizes and
awards, including the British Council Literary Award, and the World

WCJE director. Jacques Perez is co founder of WCJE. Born in Cairo 16.11.1931. Studied at “Don
Bosco” school, member of “Maccabi” Daher, then “Haivri Hatsair”. I left Egypt in Sept 1949 on SS.
“Esperia” was on Hakhshara in France then to Israel in April 1951 on SS.
“Artsa”. First went to Kibbutz Gaaton then Gvoulot where I married Rivka.
We have 3 children. After the Suez war, we left for Dimona where I served
on the local Council in various capacities including deputy chairman. After
the 6 day war we moved to Haifa, worked as Personnel Manager for Kitan.
Then I founded a Manpower enterprise and a Construction Co.
WCJE consultant. Professor Haim Aharoni functions as
a Counselor of the WCJE. He was the Head of the Hashomer Hatzair in
Cairo, and helped to organize the emigration of the Jews from Egypt. His
name was: Toto Aharon, and he lived in Daher. He studied at the Cairo
University, and completed his Chemistry studies at the London University.
He is a Professor of Chemical Engineer at the Technion in Haifa. He is
married to Ada Aharoni, and they have two children: Dr. Ariel Aharoni
-Gynecologist, and Tali Winkler, Head of "Dorot College."
WCJE Administrator. “I am Sara Rossano born
Goldring and came from Cairo Egypt. I arrived in Israel as a very young
girl in 1957. A
lot of water has passed under the bridge since then and the years have been
good to me. Now I am a happy grandmother of five Israelis – 4 boys and a
girl – the highlight of my life. I
am semi retired and deal as a volunteer as the Director of “L’Union des
Juifs d’Egypte” in Tel-Aviv, as well as the Administrator of the WCJE
“World Congress of the Jews from Egypt”.
WCJE - Public relations. Born in Cairo
1938. Studied at Saint Joseph school. Made Aliyah in
1950 with my family. First lived in the Maavara of Holon, then
moved into an apartment there. I was a student at the
agricultural school of “Mikveh Israel” between 1952 – 1954. I later
qualified as a Social worker at Bar-Ilan University and worked for 32
years in that field. In 1956, married the late Itshak Perets,
member of the Knesset. Now I am a busy pensioner in Raanana and
involved in various activities especially social projects. I
write for the local newspaper and enjoy sport and sculpting.
WCJE- graphics and site Webmaster. Born in Cairo May 1928. Studied at
Ecole des freres “College de la Salle” Daher, then “College St Joseph”
Khoronfish. 10 years member of the “Maccabi Cairo” boy scouts association.
In 1946 I joined the family “Studio atelier de couture”, situated in
“Gameeh Sharkass” Str. near “Midan Soliman Pasha”. In 1950, married to Mary
Abada. We have 3 children. In 1957, Aliyah for Israel. Immediately working
in the biggest companies in the fashion field, as Pattern designer. In
“Beged Or’, the leading international leather fashion garments Co, I was
responsible for the collections, styling and fashion shows. In 1995 I
retired, but continuing to work here and there. At the age of 70, I

WCJE Comptroller. Born
in Cairo in 1934. Studies at
“ALLIANCE ISRAELITE DU CAIRE”. Arrived on my own to Israel in 1949. Learned at the
Agriculture school “Mikveh Israel”. During my military service, I served in the “Nachal”,
and in the Tank Forces during all my reserve service. I participated in all Israeli
wars. I was
a member of “Kibboutz
Bnei-Darom”. Ten years as Agriculture Instructor in the Galilean
agricultural moshavs. (Agglomerations). Graduate as Chief Account at the Haifa University. Comptroller in the
textile industry, then an independent accountant controller. Married
to Aliza, three children and 5 grandsons.
WCJE Financing. Born in Cairo – 1939, but lived in
Alexandria. My father is from Cairo and met a nice girl from Alexandria (my
mother). In 1948 he was arrested and imprisoned for a few weeks in a police
station in Cairo. He left Egypt in a hurry in 1949. We left in 1950
with the SS. “Esperia” to Italy. We arrived from Marseilles to Haifa in
June 1950. I served in the Air force as Radio
communication technician. Graduate in Electronics from the Technion. Worked
10 years at the Weizman Institute of Science in the department of Applied
Mathematic on the Golem Computer. I am retired and worked for Scitex after
31 years as an Electronic Engineer.

Counseling. Samuel
(Samy) J. Cohen was born in Cairo in 1942. He left Egypt in 1957, and lives
in Israel. He is graduated in economics, political sciences and
business administration. Samuel performed several tasks, as Senior Marketing
adviser, general manager of subsidiaries of Clal Investment Company, deputy
general manager of Steimatzky and general manager of Beeper and Pagecall. From 1997, he is business consultant

Testimonials: Born in Alexandria. Studied at: “L’école de l’Union Juive”. 10 years member of the Zionist movement “HEHALOUTZ
HATSAYIR”, then in “DROR”. In 1957, Aliyah
for Israel with my late husband Victor Habif, and our little girl 3 years
old. I worked as a
needlewoman dressmaker. Now, I am retired and a
happy mother of 3 girls, grandmother
of 10, and great-grandmother of 2 Israelis. I
am a member of the “BNE BRIT”, and deal as a volunteer, helping the
preparation of the WCJE “World Congress of the Jews from Egypt”.
WCJE- Member of Academic Committee. Zaki Kraiem, born in Cairo, 1937. School at
Victoria College, Cairo. B.Sc.
studies in chemistry in Edinburgh, Scotland. M.Sc. in biochemistry at
Bar-Ilan University, Israel ,
then Ph.D. in biochemistry at the University of Utah, USA. Living in
Haifa; married to Bilha; 3 boys. Associate Professor
at the Faculty of Medicine, Technion, where recipient of Continuous
Distinguished Lecturer Award and where still actively engaged in teaching.
Head of the Endocrine Research Unit, Carmel Hospital, Haifa, for 25 years
and now serving as Consultant in medical research at Ichilov Hospital, Tel
Aviv.

Counseling. Allegra Mizrahi ex Soffer. Born in
Cairo,Egypt July 1932 , lived in Heliopolis till 1950. Educated at
Ecole Abraham Btesh , then St. Clare's College Heliopolis . Continued my
studies at Haifa university B.A.+M.A. major English. Qualified
teacher for high school by Misrad Hahinuch , then
Coordinator and Teachers’ trainer qualified by the Technion. Served O.R.T.
school and retired since 1989. Gave courses at
Haifa University and Gordon Teachers Seminary. Married Ceasar
Mizrahi March 1950 , immigrated to Israel June 1950. 2 children :
Prof. Soly Mizrahi and Leny Geva. Widow since 1990. Lives in Haifa since
then.
WCJE delegate in the USA: David
Ribacoff an industrial and marine field engineer, left Egypt in 1956 for
Brazil. He joined Esso Oil Company as a field engineer and later was
appointed industrial sales manager. In 1963 he joined Exxon International
in New York and retired from Exxon in 1976. Currently he is the Director of
North American Operations for The International Investigative Group,
Ltd, in the USA. David Ribacoff is a
Jewish Community Leader, a member of the Executive Board of The
American Sephardi Federation, and a member of the World Board of The
Sephardic Educational Center in Jerusalem. In
2002 the Council of The City Of New York honored David Ribacoff for his
community work with new immigrants.
WCJE SPEAKER IN THE UK; Sara Perez Kemp
born 1937. Attended Emmanuel School Faggallah and graduated from I.C.S.
Saptieh. Left Cairo for Israel in 1955 via Marseille. Served in the I.D.F.
between 57-59. Married Michael Kemp in January 1961 and have 3 children.
Attained a B.A. Hons. in Psychology and Education at Reading University,
Member of the Institute of Linguists, Dip. in Counseling and E.F.L.. Taught
French and Hebrew at Carmel College, a Jewish Independent
boarding school. Vice chairman of AJE UK. Since moving to Cambridge UK
in 2002 I am on various committees including the Cambridge
Jewish Students' Chaplaincy board. Am presently translating Clement
Behar's Memoirs into English from French and writing my
own odyssey.
Nebi Daniel

Fedida is co-founder of Association
Internationale Nebi Daniel,
which he represents in the WCJE. Born in Alexandria 1945, expelled
in 1956, he was allowed back, by G.A.Nasser personally in 1960 but forced
to leave yet again. He has lived both in England and France since
Egypt and has been blessed
with 2 children and 4 grand-children. He holds a B.A. from Sussex
University & an M.B.A from INSEAD (1968). He is retired from a career
in production & international trade in the non-ferrous industry.

DELEGATE IN AUSTRALIA;
Born in Alexandria 17 June 1934. Studied at
Lycée de l”union Juive pour l’Enseignement. After a short career in the
family cotton business was forced to run away to Italy in August 1956.
Migrated to Sydney, Australia in 1958 where he established an Export and
Shipping Company concentrating in the Pacific Islands. He has retired from
active work in the mid 80’s and has concentrated activities in community
related initiatives. Regional Officer of the Historical Society of Jews
from Egypt, founding member of the International Association Nebi Daniel,
delegate in Australia for the World Congress of the Jews from Egypt, his
ambition is to establish a Foundation for the Study and Research of the
recent history of the Jews of Egypt
