"Baby Boy" from Beyoncé and Sean Paul surrenders the No. 1 post on Billboard's Hot 100 to "Stand Up" from Ludacris and Shawnna. "Stand Up" had been relegated to the No. 2 slot for much of the nine weeks that "Baby" reigned, but makes its move up thanks to a sharp decrease in the latter track's airplay.
Yet "Stand Up" would be wise not to get too comfortable at the top as "Baby Boy" falls to No. 3. Fast on its tail is "Hey Ya!" from OutKast. The song, orchestrated by the Atlanta-based pair's Andre 3000, is up one to No. 2, and could take over the pole position next week. Close behind is OutKast's "The Way You Move" featuring Sleepy Brown. The Big Boi-led track is up 5-4.
R. Kelly moves into the Hot 100's top-10 this week with "Step in the Name of Love." The song is up 11-10, while over on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart it gains 2-1, thanks to a small airplay lead over "Stand Up."
The Hot 100's fastest-growing track at radio is "Milkshake" from Kelis, up 13-12. This is the second week in a row the song has earned that distinction. As the Dec. 9 release date for her Arista album "Tasty" nears, Kelis has a solid shot at earning her first top-10 single.
Santana's "Why Don't You & I" featuring either the Alex Band or Chad Kroeger is the Hot 100's fastest-growing track at retail. Yet a gain in sales couldn't fuel a gain in airplay and the title falls 12-14.
The Hot 100's top debut is Twista's "Slow Jamz" featuring Kayne West and Jamie Foxx at No. 62. Other notable entries include Bow Wow's "My Baby" featuring Jagged Edge (No. 71), Shania Twain's "She's Not Just a Pretty Face" (No. 74) and Westside Connection's "Gangsta Nation" featuring Nate Dogg (No. 77).
Trapt's "Still Frame" jumps 2-1 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks tally, replacing A Perfect Circle's "Weak and Powerless," which is down to No. 3. Linkin Park, meanwhile, continues to lead Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart with "Numb."
Toby Keith continues to dominate Billboard's Hot Country Singles & Tracks roundup with "I Love This Bar." No. 1 for the fourth week in a row, the cut once again fends off "I Melt" from Rascal Flatts, which is held to No. 2.
