Dunns Swamp is rich in wildlife and you will inevitably see Eastern grey kangaroos, possums, greater gliders, long-necked turtles and wombats. The area is also home to more than 100 species of birds and over 50 species of butterfly. Some of the rare and endangered animals include the regent honeyeater, glossy black cockatoo, broad-headed snake and the elusive brush-tailed rock wallaby. If you're extremely quiet you may even see a platypus around dusk and dawn (particularly near the weir). |
