Hockenheim says 'nothing fixed' for 2015
15 January 2015 – Hockenheim officials have made clear that "nothing is fixed" regarding the host for this year's German Grand Prix, but say they are ready for further talks with F1's commercial rights holder Bernie Ecclestone.
Ecclestone stated on Thursday that the country's race will again take place at Hockenheim this year, rather than continuing to alternate with the Nürburgring.
The 84-year-old said he was "in the middle" of arranging an amended deal with the circuit, which would see the Nürburgring's allocated seasons removed.
When asked by GPUpdate.net for a reaction, a spokesperson for the Hockenheim circuit emphasised: "We do not have a contract for 2015.
"We are available for further negotiations, but nothing is fixed yet."
Although Ecclestone suggested that the Nürburgring would not return in the near future, the Hockenheim spokesperson was unwilling to comment on the potential for an annual deal.
"We do have a contract for 2016 and 2018," the spokesperson added, "[but] a statement as to whether we will host the German Grand Prix annually would be pure speculation at the present time."
