Glacier National Park Current Road Status

Currently 16.5 miles of the Going-to-the-Sun Road are open for travel.
Visitors can drive 15.5 miles from the West Entrance to Avalanche, and 1.0 miles from the St. Mary Entrance to Foot of St. Mary Lake.

The “Alpine segment” of the Road, including Logan Pass, is not accessible by vehicle for the remainder of the season.

Fall hiker-biker access through the east and west closure points (Avalanche and the foot of St Mary Lake) will be allowed when Glacier National Park roadway maintenance activities are not being performed. At this time we do not anticipate evening or weekend work.

Due to fall and early winter weather, visitors should be aware that closure points can often change and they should contact Glacier National Park for updates.

The Inside North Fork Road is currently closed at Logging Creek RS and Fish Creek due to the weather. Road open on the southern end to Camas Creek, approximately 6 miles past Fish Creek Campground
