Education

New scientific approaches are revolutionizing our knowledge of human biology and disease. The Broad Institute is dedicated to sharing this exciting new knowledge — and its social implications — with everyone. Through a variety of outreach activities, public programs, online educational resources, and events, we invite others to learn more about exciting discoveries that are unfolding  and what this new knowledge means for them. Our outreach efforts currently include:

Diversity Initiative in Scientific Research
A series of hands-on programs encouraging underrepresented minorities at all levels of scientific training to pursue biomedical research.

K-12 Outreach
Discover what it means to be a scientist at a place like the Broad Institute through programs hosted at the Broad, at your school, or online.

DNAtrium
A collection of unique, interactive science exhibits located in the Broad Institute’s 7 Cambridge Center building and geared toward a wide audience.

BroadE Workshops
BroadE workshops bring researchers in the extended Broad community together so they can learn from one another. BroadE workshops (the 'E' stands for education) offer insights and share hands-on training in breakthrough technologies, high-throughput methods, and computational tools not typically found in conventional research labs.

Public Events
Each year, the Broad hosts a variety of public events that showcase key advances in biomedicine and explore their impact on society. These events include an annual summer lecture series, Midsummer Nights' Science, and are free and open to the public.
