The Hart Family Tree

The Hart family is the most important wrestling family in Canadian history and has had a huge impact on wrestling all over the world. This article will take a look at how different stars that have passed through the WWE are related to each other.

Stu Hart

Stu Hart is the patriarch of the Hart wrestling family. Stu and his wife Helen had eight sons that joined the wrestling business and four daughter that married wrestlers. Stu was the owner of Stampede wrestling and the training room in the family basement, known as the Dungeon, has produced an impressive number of star wrestlers. Future WWE World Champions that spent time in the dungeon include Bret Hart, Chris Benoit, Billy Graham, and Chris Jericho. Stu passed away in 2003 at the age of 88.

Bret Hart

Bret Hart, a son of Stu Hart, is one of the most successful wrestlers in the history of the sport. He is a former World Champion in both the WWE and WCW. His final match in the WWE against Shawn Michaels, known as the Montreal Screwjob, is the most controversial match in wrestling history. In 2007, Bret wrote his autobiography, which I feel is the greatest wrestling book ever written. It will be available in the U.S. in 2008. More »

Owen Hart

Owen, the youngest child of Stu and Helen, is the only other son of Stu Hart that garnered great fame in the WWE. Sadly, Owen is more known for the terrible accident that cost him his life rather than the achievements he accomplished in his life. More »

Jim Neidhart

Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart married Ellie Hart. Their daughter, Natalya Neidhart made her WWE debut in 2008. He is most known for being a tag team champion with his brother-in-law Bret. Even though the Hart Foundation was managed by someone with the last name Hart, Jimmie "The Mouth of the South" Hart is not related to the family. More »

Davey Boy Smith

The late Davey Boy Smith is related to the people on this list in two ways. Through his marriage to Diana Hart, he is related to the Hart family. He is also a cousin of the Dynamite Kid. Diana and Davey's son Harry Smith made his WWE debut in 2007. More »

Dynamite Kid

The Dynamite Kid is related to the people on this list in two ways. He is the cousin of Davey Boy Smith. He is also the brother-in-law of Bret Hart. He was married to the sister of Bret Hart's first wife.

DH Smith

Harry Smith became the first third-generation Hart to appear on WWE TV. He is the son of Davey Boy Smith and Diane Hart.

Natalya Neidhart & Tyson Kidd

Natalya made her WWE debut in 2008. The third-generation wrestler has become the first female Hart to compete in the WWE. She is the daughter of Jim Neidhart. In 2013, she married her long-time boyfriend, Tyson Kidd. He has been a close friend of the family since he was a child. More »

Teddy Hart

Ted Annis is the son of Georgia Hart and B.J. Annis. Ted became the first third-generation Hart to be featured on national TV when he was featured on a few Total Nonstop Action shows and when he became a star of the short-lived MTV broadcast wrestling promotion Wrestling Society X. He was a part of the WWE developmental system but was released. He has been a controversial figure in the wrestling world and has left several organizations under bad circumstances.
