Special Notice: Until further notice, the Alaska State Archives Research Room is closed. The collection vault of the new Statewide Library, Archives & Museum (SLAM) facility has been completed and all of our holdings have been moved in. However, the vault still resides within an active construction zone that is currently owned by the construction contractor. Due to construction activities, including legal and permit requirements, we cannot transfer materials in or out of the vault at this time. Normalized access to the vault is scheduled for October. Reference inquiries with a narrow scope can be accomplished in some cases out of the collection vault. You may contact us if you have any plans to visit the State Archives.
