France vows "merciless" response

An angry President Francois Hollande on Saturday promised a "merciless" response to a wave of attacks by gunmen and bombers that killed 127 people across Paris, describing the assault claimed by Islamic State as an act of war against France.

Greenpeace to appeal against order to close

Greenpeace India will appeal against an order to shut over allegations of fraud and falsification of data, the environmental group said on Saturday. Greenpeace India said last week the government of Tamil Nadu, where it was registered, had cancelled its licence under orders from the home ministry. Dozens of Afghan troops defect to Taliban

At least 65 Afghan soldiers have defected to the Taliban, taking their weapons and equipment with them and 88 have been killed in days of heavy fighting in the volatile southern province of Helmand, the local provincial Governor said on Saturday.  Full Article
